CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocates 

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA is an organization that that educates and trains volunteers to advocate for neglected children around the United States. A CASA provides a voice for the voiceless, and provides children with an opportunity to break away from their unfavorable situations.

We are so honored to say that Kappa Alpha Theta is the only sorority at Auburn University with a local branch of their national philanthropy! We also have two of our sisters serving the Lee County community as CASAs. We are all so passionate about CASA and want to give back, so we host two philanthropy events throughout the academic year. These events include CASA Fest and Theta Twist. CASA Fest is a week long event consisting of various philanthropic efforts such as benefit nights, pop-up boutiques, and concourse promotions to create awareness and raise money for CASA. Theta Twist is our spring philanthropy event where we make and sell delicious soft pretzels, have live entertainment, and spread the word about CASA.

Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation

Founded in 1960, Theta Foundation supports not only Kappa Alpha Theta in its entirety, but also its individual members. Theta Foundation’s mission is to secure and manage resources for the educational, leadership, and philanthropic programs of the Fraternity and for the scholastic, professional, and service pursuits of its members to help them reach their fullest potential and make a difference in the world. Each year, Theta Foundation awards more than $1.1 million in scholarships and grants for members and chapters, both college and alumnae. After more than 50 years, Theta Foundation remains committed to partnering with Theta women and chapters to support the Fraternity’s ideals of highest scholarship, widest influence for good, and love.
